Phuket is one of Thailand’s long-time historical cities dating back over a century. This city was called so many names before changing into today’s name such as “Bukit” which means crystal mountain, “Junk Ceylon” which was found on 3rd century A.D. map written by Alexandrian geographer, “Muang Talang” which was named since Srivichai and Siri Tahmarach Empires and “Phuket” which was changed in Rama V and has been used until now. The most important history of Phuket is the legend of two heroines—Thao Thep Kasatri and Thao Sri Sunthon who defeat Burmese armed forces within one month in 1785. Their reputations still exist until nowadays and tourists who come to Phuket have to take a visit to two heroine monuments which are like the symbols of the city. Phuket, the largest island of Thailand has various kinds of destinations including white sandy beaches, beautiful waterfalls, historical and religious places, modish shopping centers and enjoyable entertainment sites which travelers can discover all day all night.
